Frequently Asked Questions
What types of counselling do you offer?
I offer individual counselling for men and woman and use a variety of modalities to suit the individual clients needs. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in compassion and creating safety.

Do you specialise in any particular area?
Yes. I specialise in domestic and family violence (DFV), working with both victim-survivors and those seeking to understand and change patterns of harmful behaviour.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused, stuck, or ashamed about your behaviour or experiences in relationships, counselling can offer a safe space to help you understand if counselling is right for you.

Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential unless there is a serious risk to your safety or someone else’s. I’ll always explain any limitations to confidentiality in our first session.

How do I book a session?
You can book a session through the contact form on my website or by emailing me directly at admin@aboutyoucounselling.com.

What are your fees?
I offer competitive, sliding-scale fees depending on individual circumstances. Please get in touch to discuss options.

Do you offer in person sessions?
Perhaps! Currently, I only offer online counselling sessions to support flexibility and accessibility. However, for certain circumstances I may be able to do in person counselling sessions in the Brisbane area. Get in touch and we can talk it through.

What if I’ve used violence in my relationship, can I still come to counselling?
Absolutely. I provide a non-judgmental space for people wanting to understand and change their behaviour.

What if I’m currently experiencing violence and abuse, can I still come to see you?
If you are currently experiencing violence or abuse, it’s best for you to contact a Domestic and Family violence service who can assess your situation. A good starting point is calling 1800Respect.
